Join USA-ITA on the West Coast!
From USA-ITA OFF THE CUFF for February 15, 2013
We’ll be in Las Vegas and San Francisco next week—and it’s not too late to join us!
From February 18th through February 21st, USA-ITA will be participating in SOURCING at MAGIC in Las Vegas. If you or your colleagues plan to be there, stop by our booth in the Sourcing Resources Center or check out one of the seminars featuring USA-ITA members!
In particular, we hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, February 20th at 10:30 AM for a seminar titled Obama’s Second Term: Focus on Trade & Apparel. Moderated by USA-ITA President Julia K. Hughes, the seminar will cover the Obama Administration’s trade agenda and how it will affect sourcing decisions. The panelists include Gail Strickler, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Textiles & Apparel, and Mark Jaeger, Senior Vice President of Jockey International.
After MAGIC, hop over to San Francisco for our annual West Coast Seminar at Levi Strauss & Co. This year’s seminar promises to be the best yet, as we’ll focus on U.S. Customs & Border Protection issues including the new Center for Excellence & Expertise for our industry. Featured speakers include CBP Deputy Assistant Commissioner Richard DiNucci as well as Dora Murphy, Director of the CEE for Apparel, Footwear, & Textiles, in her first public appearance to discuss its implementation. Other topics of discussion will include CPSIA with CPSC Commissioner Nancy Nord, sourcing opportunities in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, and what importers can do to get involved in the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations, among others. We hope to see you at one or both events!
